The intergenerational meeting: a space for environmental cooperative learning from the University Chair of the Elderly

The generational dialogue supported by the search for history, experiences, traditions, modes of behavior, make communication continue to be an imperative for education and professional training in these times. The research aims to propose a plan of activities that contribute to an intergenerational meeting on environmental issues between older adults of the "Clodomira Acosta Ferrales" Home for the Elderly, the new generations of the Maternal Home and students from different schools, it is carried out under the qualitative paradigm, to facilitate from an educational space; the establishment of links and the adoption of roles and exchange of knowledge. Semi-structured interviews, participant observation and life histories have been applied to bring the different generations together with the purpose of sharing experiences and the realization of social change in co-responsibility with the other, which made it possible from an adequate interrelation and communication between these people to obtain a higher level of knowledge and satisfaction in relation to environmental aspects.
